Department of Basic Training in Cybersecurity (DFBCS)

The Foundational Training Department in Cybersecurity was established in accordance with Article 40 of Presidential Decree No. 23-416 (dated November 26, 2023) and Executive Order No. 808 (dated August 31, 2025), which defines the departments within the National Higher School of Cybersecurity (NSCS).

The Department of Foundational Training in Cybersecurity is responsible for ensuring the acquisition of fundamental knowledge and cross-disciplinary skills necessary for the successful completion of academic programs.

It designs foundational cybersecurity curricula and organizes and delivers core courses aimed at establishing solid theoretical and practical foundations in computer science, mathematics, fundamental electronics, and engineering sciences, forming the core academic framework.

Mission and Responsibilities

The department's primary mission is to ensure that students acquire the fundamental knowledge and transversal skills necessary for academic success. Its key responsibilities include:

  • Curriculum Design: Developing foundational programs that establish solid theoretical and practical bases in computer science, mathematics, fundamental electronics, and engineering sciences.
  • Quality & Adaptation: Ensuring program content remains coherent, high-quality, and aligned with the evolving strategic, ethical, and legal challenges of cybersecurity.
  • Continuous Updates: Regularly updating pedagogical content to keep pace with shifting threats and emerging technologies.
  • Career Support: Assisting learners in building their academic and professional projects while preparing them for advanced specializations.
  • Extended Services: Beyond core training, the department provides continuing education, professional services, advanced training, and retraining programs.
Structure and Governance

The department is led by a Head of Department who oversees all pedagogical and administrative operations. The organizational structure includes:

  • A Scientific Committee.
  • Research laboratories, units, or teams.
  • Administrative assistance from service heads and research directors.

The Department Chair is responsible for the academic and administrative management of the department. They are assisted by Heads of Service and, where applicable, by Directors of laboratories or research units.
